Which VEXWALL Video Wall Product Do I Need? A Simple Selection Guide

2026-09-05

Choosing between multi-screen controllers, video wall processors, decoder matrices and matrix switchers does not have to be confusing. Answer these five questions and the right family usually becomes obvious.

Question 1 — What are your sources? If your sources are IP cameras (network), you need a network video decoder matrix (NM series). If your sources are cabled video — HDMI, DVI, VGA, SDI — continue to the next questions.

Question 2 — Do sources need to appear on one shared wall at the same time? If you need several sources spliced, roaming or overlapping on a single wall, you need a video wall processor (K, D or P series). If each display simply shows one full source and you mainly switch between them, consider a seamless matrix switcher.

Question 3 — Are you working from a single ultra-HD source? If one computer or player must stretch across 4 to 9 screens as a single canvas (ultra-wide or a video wall), a multi-screen controller (M104, M106 or M09) is the simplest pure-hardware answer.

Question 4 — How many screens and what layout? 4 to 9 screens from one input: multi-screen controller. A large wall from many independent sources: video wall processor. Many cameras: decoder matrix. Many sources to many displays with clean switching: matrix switcher.

Question 5 — Do you need IP decoding or seamless switching? IP camera decoding → NM series. Seamless, no-black-screen switching between sources → hybrid matrix (8×8 to 40×40).

Quick summary:

- One ultra-HD source → many screens as one canvas → Multi-Screen Controller

- Many direct sources → one shared wall with windows → Video Wall Processor

- Many IP camera streams → a surveillance wall → Decoder Matrix

- Many sources → many displays, clean switching → Seamless Matrix
